Space Invaders in Paris 022
This specimen was waving at the other one across the street (and waving at him). The first one is gone. His twin keeps on waving at people passing by.

Is this Space Invader running to Angela Davis (by Shepard Fairey)?

Space Invaders in Paris 018
This Space Invader can be found on the road to Saint-Jacques de Compostelle. As he's been here for years, I'm starting to wonder whether he's really a pilgrim (and he doesn't even have a stick to walk!).
You will find in the same street a sundial made by Salvador Dali in 1968.

Space Invaders in Paris 015
Some say the aliens arrived on earth centuries ago.Well, it's hard to say when this camouflaged Space Invader landed here. The wall was built in the 17th century. 15 years before the French revolution, the building hosted the first public library in Paris. And the writer Alphonse Daudet lived here in the 19th century.
(Camouflaged since may 2002. 20 pts)

Space Invaders in NYC 001
On September 2008, I found this colourful and not so easy to shoot Space Invader on Hudson St & Bowery. As you can see below, this corner looks like a real Street Art Hall of Fame: Invader, Obey Giant & a huge Keith Haring mural recreated to commemorate his 50th anniversary; across the street was a giant African woman lying on the side-walk, installed there by JR, a French photograph and street artist.
But when I came back last November, the corner was cleaned. No more Invader, Obey or JR and the KH mural was replaced by another one.
(November 2007-2009. 10 pts)

Read: I Invade Paris. That's what Invader does, indeed. More than 850 creatures were installed across Paris and half is still there.

(Wearing dreadlocks since September 2001. 10 pts)
And some no like Rastas and try to shoot 'dem! I tell you brotha'.
See that printed circuit board on the bottom/left corner of the spaceship?
It might have been blinking when it was just installed.

Space Invaders in Paris 005
This polite Invader was Quai de Valmy. I assume one couldn't deal with a stranger saying "Hello!" in Paris (so weird!). It was destroyed.

Link was waiting at the top of the stairs in Passage Gauthier, close to the Buttes Chaumonts in Paris 19th arrondissement.
But now he's gone, probably a new adventure where he had to save Zelda.

A pixelized creature a day
A Space Invader a day, that's what this blog is about. The purpose is not to promote Invaders work (he does it well), but I shall thank him to help me see the city as a huge playground. His creatures made of pixels land here and there. Some were shot while walking in the streets, roller skating or riding a bike. Some were found late at night. Some are shot with a regular digital camera, others with a crap cellphone. In one word, these are not great pictures, the main thing is what is shot.
Hope you'll enjoy!
